Here is how you use good old iTunes to perform the sync. Just keep in mind that there are some limitations, which we will go over further below.
Step 1: Turn on your computer and launch iTunes.
Step 2: Plug in your iPod.
Step 3: Click on “Edit”.
Step 4: Go down and click “Preferences”.
Step 5: Click on “Devices”.
Step 6: Look for the words “Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically” and the check box next to it. Click the box.
Step 7: Click “File”, then “Devices”.
Step 8: Click on where it says “Transfer Purchase from [X]” where X is the name of you device.
This method is the official one, but unfortunately it only really works for music that you purchased officially from the iTunes store. If you have other kinds of data on there that you didn’t necessarily purchase, it could end up being lost during the sync.
